Go to Christ

I was reading earlier in John 6:35-40 and it says, "Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.  But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe.  All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.  For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.  And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.  For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day."

What a promise from our LORD that those who come to Christ, He will never cast out.  I encourage you and plead with you to go to Christ.  He is able and willing to save to the uttermost (Hebrews 7:25).

The song below is another song we sing at our church.  Enjoy thinking on Christ.

"Don't waste your life"

I wanted to share one more video clip today.  I was actually in the crowd on this day that John Piper spoke at the One Day Passion Conference.  I think I was about a junior in college then in 2000.  It made a big impact on me then and now as well.
I pray that our lives will not be wasted, but that everything in our lives would be to the glory of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

Encouragement from some missionaries

About 13 or 14 years ago, I heard about these missionaries in the videos below.   Everytime I have ever heard their story, it has always given me great courage to follow Christ, no matter what comes.  I am very thankful for their story and I think you will be encouraged by the videos below.  Also, Elisabeth Elliot has written some books that have been helpful in my walk with Jesus.

Knowing God

Lord willing, I will be starting a Ladies Bible Study at my house this coming Thursday, July 12th.  We will be studying some of the attributes of God, learning about who the Lord is.  We will be going through Paul Washer's book, "The One True God".  Whether you have known the Lord for a very long time or you don't know Him at all, I believe this book will help us to dig into God's Word and learn much about Him.  In A.W. Tozer's book, "The Knowledge of the Holy", he writes, "the study of the attributes of God, far from being dull and heavy, may for the enlightened Christian be a sweet and absorbing spiritual excercise.  To the soul that is athirst for God, nothing could be more delightful."  I love that quote.  To the soul that is thirsty for God, what greater delight is there than knowing God and enjoying Him forever.  I encourage you and myself to spend the rest of our lives studying and cherishing the Gospel and the attributes of God.  As followers of Christ, we will be on this journey of knowing and loving God not only for the rest of our earthly lives but all throughout eternity!!    "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence  there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Psalm 16:11

I love the song below.  Although they left out one verse.   In the hymnal at our church, the third verse is " Let sorrow do its work, Send grief and pain; Sweet are thy messengers, Sweet their refrain, When they can sing with me, More love, O Christ, to thee, More love to thee, More love to thee.

One Thing

"One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple."  Psalm 27:4

I can remember the Lord making this verse very precious to me while I lived in China.  I was thinking of this verse today and also the song below.  I had not heard this song in a long time, but I used to sing it all the time.  It is talking about the verse above.  I pray that the Lord would cause us to truly seek after Him in His Word with all of our heart...that as His people we will desire to know Him and make Him known.

What Wondrous Love is This

What Wondrous Love is This...one of my favorite songs.  I love when we sing this together at our church.

What is eternal life?

John 17:3 says, "And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent."   So eternal life is knowing Jesus Christ.  The greatest desire of my life is to know Jesus and love Him more each day of my life.  I believe that the more I know Jesus the more that I will love Him.
Lord, please cause me to truly know You and to love You with all of my heart, soul, mind and strength.
To You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit be all glory and honor.
